Camping is a great time to unplug and enjoy your family. Kids will truly remember these moments for a lifetime. And, it is a great way to recharge. Playing games as we always have as families are always enjoyable. Let’s take a look at some amazing family games that you can enjoy on your next camping trip.
Nature scavenger hunt
These are fun little games that you can purchase or you can make on your own. Team up or do one card as the entire family. The cards will have interesting things in nature to look for such as “something heart-shaped”. These can be things that you see or things that you hear, touch, or smell. This is fun for little ones and allows them to roam and explore the surroundings.
Cornhole
This game has become quite popular in recent years and is super fun and easy to set up for any age. Traditional cornhole has the raised boxes 27 feet from each other and the first team to reach 21 wins. Each toss that lands into the hole are 3 points. If it lands on the board it is a point. The bags are made of beans. If you forget your gameboards and bags, not a problem, improvise! Dig a hole in the ground and put a circle around it. Find some pinecones or rocks to use in the place of bags.
Glow in the Dark Ring Toss
Glow in the dark ring toss is the perfect way to end a camping day. Using empty clear plastic bottles, you can make them glow with a glow stick. These will be your sticks to try to toss your glowing rings onto. See who can toss the most onto the sticks!
Camping Bingo
Similar to a scavenger hunt you can purchase the cards or make up your own. In this bingo, you have cards that are related to camping and the pictures into a stack. Draw a card and call out what it looks like. The first person to get all 5 in a row wins!
Basic Card Games
Playing cards goes back centuries and they are still fun today. Go Fish, Old Maid, Crazy Eights, and Memory match are all card games that everyone loves. These are simple games that even the smallest members can enjoy as well.
Glow in the Dark Bowling
Glow in the dark bowling can be a lot of fun for the entire family. For this, you can use the same clear water bottles that you used for ring toss. However, you will need 10 total with 10 glow sticks to put inside. Line them up in a triangle with 4 in back and down to one in front. Next, find a ball, basketball works really well. And, roll it to see how many you can knockdown. Each playing is to take 2 shots at it per turn. One point per pin knocked down and add the scores up after 10 rounds.
