This is a campground that is nothing like those open fields and no shade new style campgrounds. This one offers amazing wooded lots. There are breathtaking views of Lake Serene. And, it is nestled among the Adirondack Mountains in Old Forge, NY. There are plenty of accommodations to choose from and the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable about the area. There are so many various ways to camp at Old Forge Camping from the tents to the cabins and cottages that are offered there on site.

If you don’t have the equipment to go camping but want that campground experience? Try camping in one of the cabins that are sprinkled around the park. And, the park is open year-round, so camping can be enjoyed at any time of the year. This is great for the snowmobiles and our cabins are nicely warmed for you. Enjoy roughing it a bit more? Before heading out, it’s always a good idea to look at the amenities of the place you plan to go. Will it work with small children or are pets okay are some of the common questions as well as full hookups for those RVers or WIFI. This campground is equipped with Wifi. Yes, we understand that it’s time to get away, however, for some, they have to check work or work from their RV and that’s why this is mentioned. The Main Lodge is the “hot spot” so it may not work inside your campsite, however, there are places for you to work from in the lodge.

There is night patrol and the lodge’s number will go to their phones. And, there is a camp store and camper’s cafe as well as gifts. Small grocery items and snacks can be purchased there for your convenience.

This campground is busier than some would like. However, if you go camping to experience people and different things, this is a great place for you. There are a lot of things to do for families and kids. There are beaches, paddle boat, and canoe rentals, and it has a partnership Enchanted Forest Water Safari and Calypso’s Cove with bussing to the water park. And, if you are looking for a black bear, you might have a chance to see them here. There is quite a bit of bear activity in the campground so keep that in mind when you are camping here. Ensure your food is bear proof and you will be fine. Remember, they are sharing their home with you, respect them, and enjoy them.
