Dolores River Campground and Cabins
This beautiful campground is located in Dolores Colorado. It has a huge list of amenities and accommodates RV as well as tent camping. There are pull-through sites as well as waterfront sites for fishing and picnic tables, fire pits, wifi, and cable TV. In the summer they have themed nightly fun things planned from ice cream socials to pizza night, folk singers, and more. It is beautifully landscaped with loads of trees, a pond, and wildlife.
May Queen Campground
Feel free to bring along your kayak or canoe and enjoy the Turquoise Lake. There are 17 sites for RVs and tents and 12 walk-in tent sites. They offer full hookup to tent only style camping. Bear Lake Campground
Located near the Flat Tops Wilderness Area is the second-largest wilderness area in Colorado on Stillwater and Yamacolo Reservoirs. It offers hiking and fishing as well as boating on the waterways. They welcome pets and it’s relatively inexpensive at $17 a night.
This campground gets its name because there are bears in the area. Be smart about your food storage and your personal protection. Maybe you’ll be lucky enough to see one. There are no full hookup sites or Pull-through sites. There is no wifi and cell service so plan ahead and tell someone where you are going. They offer restrooms but no showers and tent camping is really the ideal way to go in this bit of a roughing style campground. Visit Bear Lake Campground.
Mountain Views at Rivers Edge RV Resort
Let’s take this list to the opposite end of the camping spectrum to a place where there are no tent sites. Yep, this is truly an RV resort. This is where some people will park and call home for a bit, or just come by for a week. The park offers wifi and all cell services are reported to work. There are full hookups and pets are allowed. As well as there is a designated pet area.
And, showers, restrooms, and laundry facilities to name a few. This park doesn’t offer playgrounds or swimming pools for children. The on-grounds fishing pond is fish and keep only and is $4.50 a fish. Visit Mountainviews.
Lightner Creek Campground
Located in beautiful Durango Colorado with breathtaking views, this campground is a top because of this. There are great amenities such as running water, showers, restrooms, and RV and Tents are both welcome. Pets are also welcome. They offer a honey wagon service as well as coin laundry.
