Camping is a great way to unplug and connect with those around you.  You can go alone, with friends or take your family. There are many ways to camp, which makes it pretty universal.  There are the rustic tent sites found in a campground, or even go more rustic and go backwoods camping. If you don’t like sleeping on the ground then maybe a camper or RV is more your style.

And, as we progress through life, our camping preferences may progress as well. Both the Millennials and Gen X generation identify themselves as lifelong campers and truly enjoy it. Camping is something that you can do with your family and is a great option for larger families as well.  While having children can make traveling very costly, camping is a great solution that is just as much fun.

Millennials are not raising their kids as the Baby Boomers did. They want to be an active part of their lives and enjoy things with them.  They have a different mentality than those that raised them. Believe it or not, the millennials have been having kids of their own for a few years now.  And, camping has become something that this generation really enjoys and it is something that they can enjoy with their kids as well as their pets.

This day and age we do much more with our pets than we have ever done in the past. People travel more with all kinds of pets, maybe it’s for social media fam, or maybe it’s because we love our pets as much as the rest of our family.  And, camping is the perfect way to enjoy our pets as well as our kids all while enjoying the outdoors. Kids love to explore and be with nature and have since the beginning of time. Little boys love to splash in mud puddles and everyone loves swimming in a lake or river!

Want to try glamping?

Glamping is well, sort of like camping, where you are in a tent, but it has a real bed and often running water.  It is not a hotel room, but well, it sort of is. Glamping is the combination of glamorous camping, a bit obnoxious but it is getting more people out and trying this camping thing, so it is worth mentioning.  They typically are found in places that traditional hotels simply cannot exist, in the woods and it certainly is a form of camping which the Millenials have come up with. A night’s stay in one of the amazing glamps though can be a bit pricey, starting over $100 a night, compared to free in some wooded areas with your tent.

Camper vans

Camper vans are also popular with the Millennials.  Today, there are so many jobs that you can do online, which, many Millennials are doing.  This allows them a sort of freedom that other generations haven’t had the option to do. With this, comes creativity on what to do when they can literally work from anywhere.  And, thus, back with camper vans. They are large enough to travel with and aren’t huge like RVs so they are economical as well.
